What I read last week:
Saddle Up by A M Arthur
I really enjoyed this despite one issue. It makes me crazy when people have *secrets* but refuse to communicate them to their hopeful partner. In both cases, I do understand but also… communicate!
Coffin Road by Peter May
This was an intense read. The main character washes up on the beach without a shred of his memory intact and spends a good three quarters of the book trying to figure out who he is and what he’s doing.

I had quite the full mailbox this week! I kind of went on a spree between the library, PaperBackSwap and a surprise from a friend.

All of the above minus the very last one arrived in a box from a friend of mine. It’s good to have friends like that, eh?
I have one book still in limbo, seems Amazon is holding it hostage. But it should arrive in the next few days, I hope!
Bury Me Standing: The Gypsies and their Journey by Isabel Fonseca. I read this book a million years ago and recently started thinking about it again, so I bought it. Wish I knew what happened to my original copy.

Ooh, Sharp Objects…I loved the book a while ago, and recently saw the miniseries. I also loved Little Fires Everywhere and The Wife. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

I finally picked up Sharp Objects because two of my friends were watching it. I don’t have any of the movie channels so by the time it’s available on DVD, I should be good. 😀 Oh, good to know about those two. Little Fires Everywhere has gotten so much hype that I was worried. I have the same issue with communication like you mention in Saddle Up. I’m always like- talk to each other people lol! And ooh Coffin Road sounds good. I tend to like memory loss stories. 🙂

Right? If you can’t communicate now, how do you expect to keep the relationship together? But maybe I’m jaded. Hahaha.
Coffin Road was very good. There was an added bit in there about bees that I found fascinating. And memory loss stories are always good.
I’ve read Gone Girl and, for the most part, it was really good. The end kind of flopped for me, but it was well worth the read. I hope you get to them soon!

Thank you – I’m really enjoying Sharp Objects although I haven’t had much time to read it this week. Both World Wars interest me but, being an American, the focus is generally on the US’ involvement and, in the case of WWII, Germany, and not much else. So, I thought it’d be interesting to see another side of what happened. I hope it’s good, too. Thanks for stopping by!
