[Blogtober] October Wrap-Up

Ugh, I was doing so well, guys, and then my husband got sick.  It wasn’t anything serious, but he had a kidney transplant back in April, so even a minor cold can be tough for him.  Over 4th of July weekend, he wound up in the hospital because he’d had a very mild cold the week before but, it knocked his white blood cell count so low that the doctors wanted him in the hospital until they were back up.  Thankfully, we didn’t have this issue this time.

Unfortunately, he did get me and our younger daughter sick as well, so I’ve been battling that for two weeks now.  Thus, my utter fail at the second half of the Blogtober challenge.

However, I did manage to read eight books.  EIGHT.  Although two were novellas, two were short audiobooks, and one was a cookbook.  Eh, I don’t care.  That still knocked several off my list so I’m happy.

On the bright side, Netflix released a full trailer for their upcoming series, The Witcher.  I read the first in the series, The Last Wish, earlier this year and really enjoyed it.  Cannot wait for the series to start and WE HAVE AN OFFICIAL DATE!  DECEMBER 20!  I’m excited.

I’m hoping to get some things cleared up next month and do some serious reading.  I hate being cold, so I tend to stay indoors during the late fall and winter.  Despite the fact it doesn’t really get *cold* here in Southern Nevada, it’s still too darn cold for me.

  1. I’m looking forward to Witcher, too.

And glad to hear your husband’s cold didn’t send him to the hospital this time. 🙂

    1. I hope it lives up to the trailer!

Aw, thank you so much! It’s really hard to get your white blood cell count up when you’re taking medications to do the exact opposite. 🙂
