Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge April 8, 2020

wednesdaybloggingchallenge

The Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge is hosted by Long and Short Reviews.  This week’s topic is: topic(s) I could give an impromptu speech on.

Lord have mercy, where do I even start?  I know a little about a ton of things.  It’s the curse of being a reader, I suppose.  But what do I actually know enough about to be able to present a speech?  This could get interesting (but it likely won’t, sorry.)

Vampires.  I’ve been obsessed with the subject since I was a kid and therefore have done a ton of research (both fiction and non-fiction) on the subject.  And my obsession with vampires led to the next topic…

Romania and the Romani people.  I’m sure that neither the Romanians nor the Romani would appreciate me saying as much but… well, it’s true.  So much so that I’m actually learning to speak Romanian and hope some day to be able to visit the country and see Castle Bram for myself. Timpul va spune.  (Time will tell.)

To finish on a more serious note… Kidney disease, transplants, and all the hell that comes after.  This is one thing I wish I didn’t know so much about, but the universe thought I needed this in my life so… you need to know what contains potassium?  I’m your girl.  And FYI: it’s in damn near everything.  Hahaha.

    1. I’ll take all the hugs I can get these days. 🙂

Thanks, it’s been a lot of fun. Once you remember that adjectives go after the noun and that you don’t have to use an actual subject in your sentence, it’s not all that tough! Freaking Latin-based languages anyway. 🙂

  1. Oof. Kidney transplants. That does not sound like a fun topic to be an expert on. Vampires, on the other hand…

    My list is here.

    1. Nope, not in the least. April 15th, 2019 was one of the hardest days of my life. My husband received, my MIL donated. ❤

But yes, vampires can be fun!

  2. When I wrote my 2 vampire stories, I had to make them have a scientific basis, because that’s how I think. I did the same with my werewolves. Curse of having a scientific mind, while being a right-brained writer. Or is that an oxymoron? LOL!
