Okay, so we might get a bit mystical and hippie-ish here, but well, I’m a water child so bear with me.
Sleep seems like the obvious answer here, but I don’t generally sleep very well. It started when my older girl came, was compounded when my second daughter came, and rendered impossible when my husband got sick. But eh, whatever, right? Isn’t that why caffeine exists?
So, what do I do instead? Well, yoga is always at the top of my list. I love Ross Rayburn for this. He’s funny, he’s a little dorky, and he gives a lot of technical guidance that helps me focus on what I’m doing in that moment rather than all the things that are going on around me.
In a similar vein, I also meditate. Again, I love Ross for this because he has such an amazing voice. It’s not overly deep or seductive, but it’s very calm and comforting. Like an audible fuzzy blanket. His sleep meditations are the best and I never make it to the end if I go with anything longer than ten minutes. Cody Rigsby is also great for meditations, but I tend to save Boo for things like acceptance or gratitude. That boy does not lull me to sleep, sorry.
Another thing that works well for me is getting out into that good old desert sun. Gardening, reading, taking a walk, whatever I have time for. I joke about being solar powered, but it’s not exactly wrong either.
I’m sure there are other things that I do as well, but I think that’s enough for the moment. What are your go-to ways to recharge when your battery has run low?
I’ll have to try Ross’ meditations! My sleep honestly hasn’t been great lately either.

He’s such a joy. I did some yoga with him this morning. There are a few of his on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ross+rayburn+meditation
I think sleep has been hard to come by for a lot of people the last couple of years. Hang in there. ❤

I love sitting in the sun soaking up the rays but haven’t gotten out very much this summer. Better for the skin, I guess… Thanks for stopping by!

I make sure to use sunscreen and moisturize, so that helps. 🙂

Taking a walk is good for me.
I keep saying I’ll give yoga a try, but I never seem to get around to it.

I love a good walk, unfortunately, it’s usually too hot here for that most of the year.
It’s one of those things – you either love it or hate it. Hopefully you will try it one day, but if not, that’s okay too. 🙂

I love yoga too, but its been hard to access during the pandemic.

I tend to use the online classes via Peloton. I’m not confident enough to do that kind of thing in public.

I’m sort of the other way around: sun, as a general thing, wears me out instead of recharging me. Moonlight, on the other hand… so peaceful and quiet.

I can totally understand that about the sun – but I agree on the moonlight!

I read and I write. Both tend to seperate me from the anxiety which is preventing sleep

Same. I always read before bedtime for that reason.

I used to do yoga until I wrenched a shoulder. Might have to try a less strenuous version.

That definitely makes it harder!
